Our training courses are designed according to the requirements of the Knifemakers Guild of SA. Both courses are comprehensive and cover all aspects of either the fixed blade or liner-lock folding knife that you will make yourselves during our courses.
FIXED BLADE COURSE @ R2 500
The fixed blade course takes place over two consecutive days, normally a Friday and a Saturday and covers everything to make your own mirror polished, hollow ground, full tang, fixed blade knife with bolsters, tapered tang and sheath.
Topics covered include steel selection, knife design, stabilizing handle materials, anodizing titanium and many more. You make your own knife with our assistance, with the focus being on the training experience. A maximum of four attendees are accepted between two trainers to ensure optimum learning experience.
Course cost includes all materials and consumables, a printed course manual, refreshments and lunch.
LINER-LOCK FOLDER COURSE @ R3 500
The liner-lock course takes place over two consecutive days, normally a Friday and a Saturday and covers everything to make your own liner-lock knife with titanium liners, bolsters and hollow ground blade. Previous experience with hollow grinding and polishing is essential.
This course focus on the design and crafting of a liner-lock folding knife.
